EN 12662 Total Contamination Test Instrument in Middle Distillates and Diesel Fuels

Purpose and scope

This Instrument specifies the method for the determination of total contaminant content in middle distillate fuels, diesel fuel containing not more than 30% (v/v) fatty acid methyl esters, and pure fatty acid methyl esters (B100).
This EN12662 Total Contamination Test Instrument in Middle Distillates and Diesel Fuels is applicable to samples with a kinematic viscosity not exceeding 8 mm²/s at 20°C or not exceeding 5 mm²/s at 40°C, such as diesel fuel and pure fatty acid methyl esters (B100). It applies to samples with total contaminant content ranging from 12 mg/kg to 30 mg/kg, for which precision data are established; it is also applicable to samples with total contaminant content outside this range, but no precision data are provided for such cases. This standard may also be used for the determination of total contaminant content in diesel fuel containing more than 30% (v/v) fatty acid methyl esters and in products with kinematic viscosity outside the above-mentioned ranges; however, the precision of the method has not been established.
